Safe Sitter® Essentials is a comprehensive, instructor-led course designed for students in grades 5–8. It covers safety skills, child care techniques, first aid, and rescue skills, including CPR, as well as life and business skills. The class is interactive, featuring games and role-playing exercises to prepare students to be safe when home alone, watching younger siblings, or babysitting.

Safe@Home is a 90-minute program aimed at students in grades 3–6. It teaches them how to practice safe habits, prevent unsafe situations, and respond to emergencies when they are home alone. The course introduces students to the Safe Sitter® First Aid Chart and a system to assess and respond to injuries and illnesses.

Grandparents: Getting Started is a 3-hour class for adults, particularly grandparents, who will be caring for young children. Taught by certified Safe Sitter® Instructors, the course covers updated child care practices, behavior management, and life-saving skills such as choking rescue and first aid. It also offers tips on building strong relationships with grandchildren and managing babysitting requests.

Yes, The Care Well Company offers group rates for organizations such as Girl Scout troops, homeschool co-ops, church youth groups, after-school programs, and community centers. Private group classes can be scheduled at your preferred location and are a great way to equip participants with essential safety skills together. Reach out for more information here.

You can register for a class through the online booking system on The Care Well Company’s website. After selecting your desired class and completing payment via Stripe, you will be redirected to a required form to provide additional information about the participant.Sign Up

Classes are held at various locations, including community centers, schools, and churches. Each class listing on the website includes the specific address and details for that session.

All classes include an official handbook with space for note taking. It’s recommended to bring a snack and water bottle. If applicable to your class, wear comfortable clothing for practicing CPR and choking rescue.

For the Safe Sitter with CPR Class: Please bring a sack lunch and drink that do not require refrigeration or microwave.

It’s requested that any electronic device brought into the classroom not distract anyone during the day.

Exchange, Illness, Cancellation Policy
Exchange:
• Should your plans change, you can exchange your spot with another student you refer for a $20 administrative fee.

Illness:
• You must notify me as soon as possible and provide at least 24 hours before class if feasible. A text message is best at 804-615-3341.
• If another class is available, you may reschedule once at no additional charge to another class within 4 months. If rescheduling is not possible or you choose not to reschedule, a partial refund will be issued according to the cancellation policy.

Cancellation:
• More than 96 hours notice: 50% of the class fee is forfeited.
• No-show, or cancellation within 48 hours of the class: No refund, rescheduling due to documented illness will be considered.
• In the unlikely event that the Care Well Company needs to cancel a class, all fees will be refunded.
• If there is severe weather, please look out for a cancellation or early pick up announcement.
